From the filmmakers that brought you “The Ukrainians”, Leonid Kanter and Ivan Yasniy, now present “MYTH”. The release date is January 2018 in Ukraine.
The film is the remarkable and tragic story of Wassyl Slipak; a talented opera singer whose unique voice brought him world recognition.
​Born in Lviv, young Wassyl won many performance competitions with his gifted voice.
​His talent eventually brought him to France where he lived for 19 years, Wassyl had everything that could bring one happiness and fulfillment in life. He had dear friends and loved ones. He had fame and success in his career as opera singer. He had conquered the world stage.
Wassyl actively participated in the Revolution of Dignity, leading rallies in France. But he felt like he needed to do more for his beloved homeland. Although, he did more than enough as an artist, Wassyl volunteered to help Ukraine. Despite the comforts and opportunities of his life in France, Wassyl decided to leave and join the volunteer Ukrainian defense forces when war came to his homeland.

“MYTH” is the third film, made jointly by Leonid Kanter and Ivan Yasniy. The other films they have already made together are: “The War for Your Own Expense” and “The Ukrainians”. These films have been shown in 23 countries around the globe.
The music for the film “MYTH” was created and provided by some of the best composers of our time. Among them, Evgueni Galperine, who worked together with Luc Besson, Barry Sonnenfeld who was a close friend of Wassyl Slipak; Roman Grygoriv and Illia Razumeiko, who represent contemporary Ukrainian opera with the formation NOVA OPERA, and Ukrainian singer and composer Eduard Prystupa.
